DANBURY, Conn. – Senior Annika Schwartz of the Stevenson University women's volleyball team was named ECAC Division III South Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. Earlier in the week she was honored as the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week.
Schwartz finished the week with 55 kills, 61 digs, eight service aces and five blocks and was named to the All-Tournament Team of Muhlenberg's Buttermaker Tournament. She finished the week with a pair of double-doubles. Schwartz tallied 15 kills and 16 digs in a 3-2 win over Muhlenberg in which the Mustangs rallied from a 2-0 deficit. She also had 11 kills, 20 digs and five aces in a 3-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan. In Wednesday's conference opener against Messiah, Schwartz notched 12 kills and hit .423.
The Stevenson women's volleyball team, 9-0 overall and receiving votes in the latest AVCA poll, returns to action Wednesday at Marymount (Va.) for a 7:00 contest.
