LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team moved up six spots and is now ranked No. 19 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Mustangs had been ranked No. 25 in each of the past two weeks.
The No. 19 ranking is one spot shy of Stevenson's highest-ever ranking of 18th, which came on October 15, 2013.
Stevenson is 27-1 entering Tuesday night's MAC Commonwealth game against Alvernia at Owings Mills Gymnasium. The Mustangs have won 15 in a row, the second-longest active streak in Division III.
The Mustangs have faced three teams ranked in this week's AVCA poll, going 2-1. Last week, Stevenson defeated then-No. 16 Johns Hopkins 3-1 on Thursday. The Blue Jays slipped one spot to No. 17. The Mustangs have also beaten No. 21 Juniata, while their lone loss of the season came to now sixth-ranked Carnegie Mellon on September 16.
