OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team opens its quest for a sixth consecutive MAC Commonwealth title when the top-seeded Mustangs host No. 5 seed Alvernia University on Wednesday, November 1 at 7:00 pm at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
Ticket prices for Wednesday's game are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and $2.00 for students, with children under 6 free. Stevenson students with ID will be admitted free courtesy of the Stevenson athletic department.
Stevenson enters Wednesday's match on an 18-match win streak and ranked No. 19 nationally. The Mustangs, who finished conference play with an 8-0 mark for the sixth straight season, are seeking their sixth consecutive MAC Commonwealth title.
Alvernia (16-11, 4-4 MAC Commonwealth) is making its first conference tournament appearance since it competed in the 2007 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference tourney. The Golden Wolves went on the road Monday night and rallied to upset fourth-seeded Messiah 3-2. Messiah had faced Stevenson in each of the previous five MAC Commonwealth finals.
Wednesday night's other semifinal takes place in Glenside, Pa. as second-seeded Arcadia takes on third-seeded Lebanon Valley.
The MAC Commonwealth championship match is slated for Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed, with game time to be announced.
