LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team continues to ascend in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III poll, as it moved up four spots to No. 15 in this week's poll released Tuesday afternoon. It marks the highest-ever ranking for the Mustangs, who were 18th on October 15, 2013 for their previous best spot in the poll.
The AVCA Division III poll has a new No. 1 this week as Colorado College garnered 59 of 67 first place votes. Southwestern (Texas), Calvin, Wittenberg, the previous No. 1, and Trinity (Texas) round out the top five.
Stevenson (30-1) extended its win streak to 18 matches last week with three victories, including a 3-2 win at Cabrini on Saturday to close out the regular season. The Mustangs' 18-match win streak is currently second nationally, trailing only Johnson & Wales (R.I.)'s 29-match win streak.
The Mustangs return to action Wednesday night as they host Alvernia in a 7:00 pm MAC Commonwealth semifinal at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
