Henretty leads Mustangs to Top-20 Finish at Gettysburg Invitational

Gettysburg, Pa. - Stevenson women's cross country senior Shannon Henretty (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) ran a 25:55 6k (3.73 miles) to lead the Mustangs to a 20th place finish at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday. Henretty, who finished in 100th place overall, ran her second 6k under 26 minutes this season.

Junior Jill Benko (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) made her way to the finish line less than a minute later with a time of 26:27, giving her 127th place. Less than 30 seconds later, sophomore Lanie Swanhart (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) crossed the line with a time of 26:51.

Senior Mary Kate Lutz (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) sprinted her way to the finish with a 27:33, while senior Maria Rose Zambuto (Conowingo, Md./Perryville) ran a 28:00 to round out the scorers for the Mustangs.

Sophomore Mary Katheryn Edens (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and freshman Sydney Tyler (Frederick, Md./Middletown) ran times of 29:56 and 34:13, respectively.

Dickinson handily won the women's team title with a score of 32, 93 ahead of second-place Shippensburg. Lebanon Valley's Kelsey Patrick won the women's race with a time 21:48, 54 seconds ahead of Dickinson's Sara Patterson.

The Mustangs are back in action on October 26th when they compete in the Hood College Open in Frederick, Md.
