Winklbauer Sets Program Record with Fifth-Place Finish at MAC Championships

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Junior Kelly Winklbauer finished fifth overall with a 6k time of 23:27.7 at the Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Delaware Valley. Winklbauer's fifth place finish, which earned her First Team All-MAC honors, is the highest by an any runner in a conference championship in program history.

The Mustangs took seventh overall out of 16 schools with a team score of 147.

Sophomore Achol Odolla earned a spot on the All-MAC Second Team after finishing 17th overall with a time of 24:19.7.

Freshman Emily Gates made her MAC Championship debut with a 6k time 24:55.9, which gave her 31st overall. Gates was just .8 seconds away from earning a spot on the All-MAC Third Team.

Sophomore Cassandra Morris clocked a 25:42 to take 46th overall, while junior Kayla Bias completed the course in 27:12.1.

Freshman Chloe O'Hara ran a 27:37.3 for the Mustangs.

Veronica Wheeler of DeSales won the individual MAC Championship with a time of 21:54.2. Misericordia took the team title by 46 points over Messiah with a score of 51. 

The Mustangs compete next at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Championships, held at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa., on Saturday, November 11. The meet is being hosted by Dickinson.
