Sabo Leads Women's Cross Country to First Place at Mustang Stampede

STEVENSON, Md. - Freshman Mikhayla Sabo took second-place overall in her collegiate debut with a 4k (2.48 miles) time of 16:30.37 in leading host Stevenson to first place at the Mustang Stampede, held at the Greenspring Campus course.  The Mustangs finished with a team score of 28, which was nine better than second-place King's College.

Junior Achol Odolla finished just behind Sabo and in third place with a time of 16:37.04. Junior Cassandra Morris opened up her season with a 16:53.44 to take sixth.

Sophomore Emily Gates crossed the line in 17:50.91 to place eighth, while senior Mary Sam took 12th with an 18:56.16 to complete Stevenson's team score.  

Tara Johnson of King's College took the individual title with a time of 15:29.34.

The Mustangs will hit the course next when they host the Shannon Henretty Invitational on Saturday, September 8 at 12:30 pm.
