Gerard White Named Defensive Backs Coach

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson football head coach Ed Hottle has announce that Gerard White will join the Mustangs coaching staff for the 2019 season, serving as the defensive backs coach.

White comes to Stevenson after serving as the defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach at Bluefield College for the past two seasons. In his first season with the Rams, the defense gave up only eight passing touchdowns, which led the entire NAIA, and totaled nine interception, up from three the season before. At Bluefield, White also served as the co-special teams coordinator as well as the team's recruiting coordinator.

Prior to Bluefield, White served as the defensive assistant coach at Towson University as well as the defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach at The University of Virginia's College at Wise.

White graduated from West Liberty University where he was a three-year student-athlete. A two-year team captain, White led the team in interceptions as a senior while leading the team in pass break-ups and passes defended in both 2012 and 2013.
