GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Senior Hope Nyarady made 11 saves in her second career start in goal, but host Gettysburg College made a goal in the game's second minute stand up as the Bullets downed Stevenson 1-0 in non-conference field hockey Tuesday afternoon at Shirk Field.
- Julia Soares got Gettysburg (8-3) on the board just 1:07 into the game when she scored on a feed from Lauren Beccaria.
- The Bullets took all nine shots in the corner, with Nyarady making four saves. The hosts also had three penalty corners.
- Nyarady made a pair of saves in the first five minutes of the second quarter.
- Stevenson (4-8) generated its first penalty corner just past the 27-minute mark, with Riley Sullivan pushing a shot wide.
- Camryn Kelly had a pair of shots off another Mustang penalty corner, with the first one blocked and the second one wide.
- The Bullets put shots on frame at 33:40 and 34:27, but Nyarady turned both aside.
- The Mustangs earned another penalty corner with just over five minutes left in the period, with Sullivan getting off her second shot of the game.
- Nyarady recorded two more saves in the fourth as the Bullets had all five shots in the period.
- Gettysburg outshot Stevenson 22-4 and had nine of the game's 12 penalty corners.
- Bullet goalie Jillian Caputo was not forced to make a save.
- Nyarady's 11 saves were a career high. She had seven saves in her career in 173 minutes entering the contest.
