Strong First Half Moves Mustangs to Buffalo Wild Wings Classic Championship Game

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Cam Harris finished 7-10 behind the arc and poured in a career-best 21 points to lead the Stevenson men's basketball team to an 80-53 win over SUNY Maritime in the opening round of the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic at Owings Mills Gymnasium Friday night.

  • Stevenson (1-1) took the lead for good at the 16:12 mark on a putback by Evan Joseph.
  • Three straight three-pointers by Harris, the third with 10:17 left in the first half, saw the Mustangs build a 19-6 lead.
  • The hosts extended the lead to 16 before a basket by Brendan McGovern pulled Maritime (1-2) within 14, 24-10, with the 7:04 mark.
  • Stevenson held the Privateers scoreless the rest of the half, scoring the final 17 points to take a 41-10 lead into the locker room.
  • A layup by Drew Miller with a minute to go capped the run.
