McKeogh Tied for Sixth, Mustangs in Second after Opening Round of Shenandoah Fall Invite

WINCHESTER, Va. - Sophomore Luke McKeogh matched his season-best score with a two-under par 73 in leading the Stevenson men's golf team to second place out of 15 schools after the opening round of the Shenandoah Fall Invitational held at the Winchester Country Club. McKeogh is currently tied for sixth place overall. 

Freshman Tyler Slusarczyk shot a personal-best score of 75 in the opening round of the tournament, and is currently tied for 10th overall. Freshman Andrew Wally finished a stroke back of Slusarczyk with a 76.

Junior Austin Fuglestad carded a 77 for the Mustangs, while freshman Kyle Patterson finished up his round with an 84. 

Alex Simmons of Hampden-Sydney currently leads the field after shooting a one-under par 70. Hampden-Sydney also leads the team standings with a combined score of 286. 

The second and final round takes place on Monday, September 19.
