Wally Shoots 78 in Opening Round of Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Stevenson men's golf freshman Andrew Wally carded a six-over par 78 in the opening round of the two-day Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic, held at The Bridges Golf Club. Wally is currently tied for 28th and has shot under 80 in each of his first six collegiate rounds.

The Mustangs finished with a team score of 318 and are currently 11th out of 13 schools. Only 10 strokes separate Stevenson from fifth place Muhlenberg (308). 

Sophomore Luke McKeogh finished a shot back of Wally with a 79, while freshman Tyler Slusarczyk ended the day with an 80.

Rounding out the team score for the Mustangs was junior Austin Fuglestad who shot an 81. 

Freshman Kyle Patterson finished with an 83.

Brandon Vance of McDaniel leads the field after firing a three-under par 69. Jordan Kirsch of Messiah and Mason McCool of Kenyon College are tied for second at two-under par.  

Kenyon leads the team standings by seven strokes over McDaniel with a score of 290 (+2). 

The second and final round of the tournament takes place on Sunday, October 2.
