MOHNTON, Pa. - Stevenson men's golf freshman Matthew Shur (Stevenson "A") and Wynn Geis (Stevenson "B") finished tied for fifth overall after each player shot a five-over par 77 at the Alvernia Invitational, held at the Ledgerock Country Club. Geis has shot under 80 in each of his two rounds this season.
Freshman Andrew Wally (A) finished tied for ninth overall after carding a 79, while freshman Tyler Slusarczyk (A) shot an 83 on the day. Wally has shot under 80 in all but one of his 16 rounds this season.
Freshman Troy Wood carded a 95 for the Stevenson "B" team.
The Mustangs "A" team finished tied for fourth overall in the team standings with a combined score of 324, while the "B" team placed seventh with a 342.
Rutgers-Camden won the team title with a combined score of 308, which was just three strokes ahead of second-place Messiah. Jordan Kirsch of Messiah won the individual crown by one stroke over Rutgers-Camden's Zach Arsenault with a 73.
The Mustangs compete next when they host the Stevenson Invitational, held at the Piney Branch Golf Club on Thursday, April 20 at 12:30 pm.
