Mustangs Tied for Fourth After Opening Round of Spartan Invite

MT. WOLF, Pa. - The four-time defending MAC Commonwealth champion men's golf team opened its season with a first round score of 313 (+25), which has them in a tie fourth after the first of two rounds at the Spartan Invitational, held at Royal Manchester Golf Links.

Sophomore Will Ford made his Mustang debut with an opening round score of 76 (+4), placing him into a tie for 12th.

Senior Matthew Maione carded a 77 to open up his senior season, putting him into a tie for 15th. 

Both senior Matthew Shur and sophomore Shane Angle finished the day at 80 (+8), while senior Tyler Slusarczyk carded an 81. 

Nicky Marrollo of Eastern and Luke Fagely of Alvernia are currently tied for first with opening round scores of 72 (E). Goucher leads the team standings with a score of 301. 

The second and final round tees off on Sunday, September 8 at 9:15 a.m.
