Four Players Score, Stellitano Posts Sixth Shutout in Win at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson men's soccer senior DR Medtart recorded three points to lead four different goal scorers while sophomore Matt Stellitano posted his sixth shutout of the season as the Mustangs cruised to a 4-0 MAC Commonwealth win over Hood Wednesday evening at Thomas Athletic Field.

  • The Blazers (9-4-2, 0-3-0 MAC Commonwelath) were the aggressor to start the game as the hosts fired a pair of shots in the opening 3:15 of the contest.
  • Hood challenged Stellitano twice in the first 15 minutes, but the sophomore kept both shots in front of him.
  • Sophomore Sean McDonald and junior Tariq Lee recorded the first two shots on net for the visitors.
  • Just 1:10 after the fourth save by Stellitano, the Mustangs (10-3-2, 3-1-0 MAC Commonwealth) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Medtart. McDonald picked up the assist.
  • The Blazers kept their offensive pressure, recording another two shots on net that were stopped by Stellitano.

  • Just 45 seconds into the half, junior Dylan Holy doubled Stevenson's lead on an assist from Medtart.
  • McDonald attempted to extend the lead even further a minute later but his shot was stopped by Isaac Coeto Jr.
  • In the 74th minute, junior Matthew Glady made it 3-0 in favor of the Mustangs on an assist from classmate Pete Wickiser.
  • Sophomore Will Earhart got on the scoresheet with a goal in the 81st minute.
  • Stellitano kept his clean sheet with one last save in the 89th minute.

  • Hood outshot Stevenson, 17-16, including, 11-7, in the opening half.
  • The Mustangs held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks, including three in the second half.
  • It is the second straight 10-win season for the Mustangs.
  • Stellitano finished with eight saves, totaling six in the first 45 minutes.
  • It is the first career goal for Earhart and first of the season for Glady.
