Five other Mustangs (1-3) picked up their first singles win of the season, highlighted by the first career win for freshman Nick Dunlap (Baltimore/Calvert Hall), while all three of the team's doubles pairings all won their season debuts.
Junior Kevin Stamm (Leonardtown/Leonardtown) and Dunlap each battled through tiebreakers to pick up their first wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
At No. 2 doubles, the team of Speck and Stamm improved their record to 2-1 all-time with an 8-5 decision over the Nittany Lions' Matthew Stainthorpe and Artem Busorgina. The team also won its only pairing last season versus McDaniel on April 2.
Stevenson returns to action on Sunday, March 21 when it hosts Shenandoah as part of the USTA's Campus Kids Day. The Mustangs and Hornets have split the last two meetings with Shenandoah winning 6-3 at home last season and the Mustangs prevailing 7-0 at home in 2008.
