Mustangs Head to Vermont For First NCAA Trip, Face Clarks Summit Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS - The Stevenson University men's tennis team will travel to Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont to open its first trip to the Division III Men's Tennis Championship.  The Mustangs (16-2) will face Clarks Summit (11-2) in a first round match on Thursday, May 9, with match time to be announced.  The winner of that match will take on MIT (13-5) in a second round match on Friday, May 10, while the winner of that match will play a third round match on Saturday, May 11.

Stevenson earned its first trip to the NCAA tournament after capturing its first-ever MAC Commonwealth title on Saturday, downing Messiah 5-1 at home.  The Mustangs finished 6-0 in conference play during the regular season and opened the year on a 12-match win streak.

Clarks Summit is the champion of the Colonial States Athletic Conference after compiling a 7-0 CSAC record.  The Defenders captured the league's tournament title and automatic NCAA berth with a 5-3 win over Bryn Athyn on April 26.  

Kalamazoo College will host the NCAA team championships finals, which will be held May 20-22 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
