Williams, Relay Team Lead Mustangs to 8th Place at York College Spartan Invitational

YORK, Pa. - Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Devonte Williams took fourth place overall in the 400m dash with a time of 51.24 seconds to help lead the Mustangs to an eighth place finish at the York College Spartan Invitational. Williams' time also earned him a spot in the MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

In the 4x100m relay, Williams along with senior Shane Skyers, and freshmen Kyle Rudman and Seun Omolana took third place overall with a combined time of 43.82 seconds.

Skyers and Omolana both earned spots in the conference championships after finishing seventh and eighth overall in the 100m dash with times of 11.68 and 11.70 seconds, while freshman Adam Diabagate took 12th, crossing the line in 11.84 seconds.

Diabagate also took eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.91 meters.

Also earning points for the Mustangs was freshman Travis Kesler who placed fourth overall in the shot put with a top toss 13.28 meters.

Junior Dalonte Simpson took 11th place in the 200m dash with a time of 23.51, which qualified him for MACs, while junior Grier Melick ran the 800 in 2:10.70.

The Mustangs compete next at the two-day Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary, on Friday, April 3rd.
