Williams Takes Second in 200, Qualifies for ECAC's in 400 at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Devonte Williams crossed the line in 22.02 seconds to take second place overall in the 200m dash at the Paul Kaiser Classic, hosted by Shippensburg. Williams also ran a blazing time of 49.88 seconds in the 400m dash, earning him sixth place in the event and a spot in ECAC Outdoor Championships.

Williams has now qualified for ECAC's in the 100, 200 and 400m dash.

Freshman Seun Omolana and senior Shane Skyers earned top 10 finishes in the long jump with top leaps of 6.21 and 6.18 meters. Omolana took eighth, while Skyers took ninth overall.

In the triple jump, freshman Adam Diabagate took seventh place overall with a personal best hop, skip and jump of 12.75 meters, while sophomore Brandon Shepherd took ninth with a 12.52.

Senior Nish Patel ran a personal best time in the 1500m run with a time of 4:14.50, which is a little more than a second off of the school record that currently stands at 4:13.46. Freshman Thomas Adle ran a personal best in the event with a time of 4:34.26.

Freshman Kyle Rudman ran personal bests in the 100 and 200m dash with times of 11.71 and 23.40 seconds, while junior Grier Melick ran a personal best in the 400m dash, crossing the line in 54.03 seconds.

The 4x100 relay team of Omolana, Rudman, freshman David Miles and junior Dalonte Simpson took 13th place overall out of 22 squads with a combined time of 43.86 seconds.

The Mustangs compete next in the MAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Messiah, starting on Thursday, April 30th.
