Williams, Skyers Lead Mustangs on Day Two of MAC Championships

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. -  Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Devonte Williams qualified for the 100 and 200 meter dash finals on day two of the MAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Messiah.

Williams took first place in the 200m dash preliminaries with a season-best time of 21.84 seconds, while finishing third in the 100 with an 11.05. He will look to defend his conference title in both events tomorrow.

In the long jump, senior Shane Skyers broke his own school record with a top leap of 6.57 meters to take fifth place overall. Freshman Kyle Rudman had a personal best jump of 6.31 to take the eighth and final spot on the podium.

Senior Nish Patel shattered his previous school mark in the 10k by over one minute and 23 seconds with a time of 33:58.42 to take 10th place overall.

Freshman Seun Omolana crossed the line in the 100m dash with a personal best time of 11.63 seconds to take 16th overall, while junior Dalonte Simpson finished 17th in the 200 with a 23.81.

The 4x100m relay team of Omolana, Simpson, Rudman and freshman David Miles took eighth place with a combined time of 44.15 seconds to qualify for tomorrow's finals.

The Mustangs compete in the final day of competition tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m. with the men's triple jump.
