CINNCINATI, Ohio - Stevenson men's volleyball senior Patrick Schuyler combined for 31 kills as the 10th-ranked Mustangs posted back-to-back four set victories over No. 8 Mount St. Joseph and Wittenberg Thursday evening at Harrington Center.
The Mustangs (17-5) have won four-straight after dropping three of their previous four. The team also improved to 4-2 this season versus ranked teams. With eight regular season matches remaining, Stevenson is two wins shy of tying the team's win total from a year ago.
In a 14-25, 25-18, 25-18, 26-24 victory over the host Lions (12-6), the Mustangs hit under .300 for just the seventh time this season but held Mount St. Joseph to just a .071 hitting percentage in the final three sets.
Stevenson totaled 12 more digs than the Lions, holding a 39-27 advantage.
In the nightcap 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19 victory versus the Tigers (12-6), Schuyler was the lone Mustang to total double digit kills, finishing with 15. He also added four digs and three service aces.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, March 12 when the Mustangs travel to Carthage for a tri-match versus No. 15 New York University the third-ranked Red Men.
