Gash, Mustangs Win Don Cathcart Invitational

SALISBURY, Md. - Senior Langston Gash took first place overall with a blazing 8k (4.97 miles) time of 25:10.9 at the Don Cathcart Invitational, hosted by Salisbury. Gash's time was just .2 seconds off of his school record set at last year's Paul Short Invitational. Gash has won each of his three races this season.

The Mustangs won the team championship by 40 places with a team score of 36. This is Stevenson's first team and individual victory at the meet. 

Junior Patrick Watson clocked a 25:36.5 on the flat and speedy course at WinterPlace Park, giving him fifth place. Junior Nikita Kulick came in just a few spots behind Watson and in seventh place with a personal-best time of 26:02.8. 

Sophomore Aditya Singh set a new personal mark with a 26:08.6, giving him the ninth spot. 

Senior Brett Olin rounded out the team score for Stevenson with a time of 26:49.2, which gave him 14th place overall. 

Senior Jackson Morrow turned in a solid time of 27:08.7 to take 22nd place, while junior Iddriss Iddriss clocked a 27:32.6.

Senior Sam Mercoli ran a 27:36.1 for the Mustangs. 

The Mustangs will look to continue their success at the Goucher Cross Country Classic, which is set for Saturday, October 6 at 10:30 am.
