Watson, Mustangs Win Shannon Henretty Invite

STEVENSON, Md. - Senior Patrick Watson took first place at the Shannon Henretty Invitational, held on the Greenspring Campus, with an 8k time of 25:55.00. This was Watson's first career cross country victory. The host Mustangs, who swept first through seventh place in the individual standings, took the team title with a score of 15 (lowest possible). 

Senior Nikita Kulick finished less than a second below his time at last year's edition of the meet with a time of 27:34.52, giving him second place. Senior Iddriss Iddriss took third overall with a 28:25.47.

Freshman Johnathan Womack placed fourth in his collegiate 8k debut with a time of 30:17.87, while sophomore Taylor Farnsworth clocked a 30:19.30 to take fifth and complete the team score for the Mustangs.

Freshman Samuel Iseman ran a 30:42.72 in his first career 8k. Sophomore Anders Chattin crossed the line in 30:47.43 for Stevenson.

The Mustangs will have next weekend off before competing in the Elizabethtown Short Course Invite, held at the Union Canal Tunnel Park, on Friday, September 20 at 5:45 p.m.
