Rentz Leads Women's Golf To Seventh Place at Schweizer Invite

GRANVILLE, Ohio - Sophomore Laura Rentz carded a nine-over par 80 in the second round of the season-opening Lynn Schweizer Invitational, held at the Denison Golf Club, to finish tied for 21st overall. Rentz, who finished with a two-day total of 166 (+24), has shot under 90 in five her last seven rounds dating back to last season.

Stevenson finished seventh overall in the team standings with a two-round total of 678.

Sophomore Emma VanDeCar posted rounds of 82 and 85 to finish tied for 25th, while junior Julia Kline finished three strokes back of VanDeCar with a total score of 170 for the tournament. 

Freshman Amanda Perez opened up her collegiate career with an 84 in the first round before carding a 91 in the second to finish tied for 32nd. 

Sophomores Elise Glauser and Lauren Griffith finished up with scores of 186 and 202 for the tournament, respectively.  

Rachele Miller of Depauw took the individual title with a score of six-over par, while her team finished atop the leaderboard with a total score of 615 (+47).

The first round of play was halted on Saturday due to inclement weather. The teams finished up both rounds on Sunday. 

The Mustangs continue their fall season on Saturday, September 8 when they compete in the McDaniel Fall Invitational held at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa.
