Women's Golf Leads After Opening Round of Lynn Schweizer Invite

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Stevenson women's golf team leads the field by three strokes after the first round of the season-opening Lynn Schweizer Invitational, held at the Denison Golf Club. The Mustangs finished the day with a team score of 323 (+39). Junior Laura Rentz matched her career-low score with a 78 (+7), which has her into a tie for fourth overall heading into the second and final round.

Junior Emma VanDeCar carded a 79 to finish the day tied for sixth overall, while sophomore Amanda Perez is currently tied for ninth after shooting an 81. 

Sophomore Casey Oppenheimer opened up her season with an 82, placing her into a tie for 13th on the leaderboard. Oppenheimer is playing as an individual in this tournament.

Junior Elise Glauser shot an 85, placing her into a tie for 30th. 

Peyton Greco of Ithaca (N.Y.) leads the field after carding an opening round score of 73 (+2).

The second and final round of the tournament takes places on Sunday, September 1.
