Mustangs Take Second Place at Lynn Schweizer Invitational

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Stevenson women's golf team took second overall at the two-day Lynn Schweizer Invitational, held at the Denison Golf Club. The Mustangs, who led the field by three strokes after the opening round, finished eight strokes back of DePauw (Ind.) with a total score of 655 (+87).

Junior Emma VanDeCar carded an 11-over par 82 on the second and final day to finish tied for seventh overall. VanDeCar, who now has 17 career top 10's, finished with a total score of 161 (+19).

Sophomore Amanda Perez matched her opening round score with an 81 to finish tied for ninth, giving her 11 career top-10 finishes. 

Junior Laura Rentz shot an 87 on the day, giving her a two-day total of 165 (t-17th). 

Freshman Casey Oppenheimer (171, +29) and junior Elise Glauser (174, +32) both notched 89's on the day to finish tied for the 30th and 35th, respectively. Oppenheimer played as an individual. 

Senior Julia Kline improved on her opening round score by 12 strokes with an 82, tying her for the second-lowest score of the day for the Mustangs. 

Peyton Greco of Ithaca (N.Y.) finished with a two-day score of of 147 (+5) to earn the individual title.

The Mustangs tee off next at the McDaniel Fall Invitational, held at The Bridges Golf Club, on Saturday, September 7.
