Rentz, Mustangs Lead After Opening Round of Gettysburg Fall Invite

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Junior Laura Rentz leads the field by one stroke after carding a season-low four-over par 75 in the opening round of the Gettysburg Fall Invitational, held at the Hanover Country Club. The Mustangs, who received votes in the Division III WGCA Coaches Poll for the first time in program history this week, lead second-place York (Pa.) by two strokes with a team score of 321.

Sophomore Casey Oppenheimer sits just three strokes back of Rentz and in fourth place after shooting an opening round score of 78 (+7), which is just a stroke back of her season best. 

Senior Julia Kline and sophomore Amanda Perez both carded 84's and are currently tied for 12th heading into the final day. 

Junior Emma VanDeCar shot an 87 for the Mustangs, which places her into a tie for 21st. 

The Mustangs will look for their third consecutive tournament victory when the second round commences on Sunday, September 22.
