Women's Tennis Competes on Day One of MAC Individual Championships

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Stevenson women's tennis team competed in the opening rounds of doubles play at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships, hosted by Wilkes and King's College.

Junior Nina Bretz and sophomore Taelor Brown opened up play in No. 3 doubles with a thrilling 8-7 win over King's College, but would bow out to top-seeded FDU-Florham by an 8-3 margin in the quarterfinals. 

Second-seeded juniors Jenna Skove and Kelsi Mentzer were upset by Eastern in their No. 1 doubles opening-round match by an 8-6 score, while senior Kirstyn Davidson and sophomore Megan Waskiewicz dropped a hard-fought 7-5 decision in their quarterfinal match to Arcadia.

The Mustangs will begin singles play when the tournament commences on Saturday, October 20 at 11:45 a.m.
