Panek Wins 400m Hurdles on Final Day of Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - Sophomore Rachel Panek took first overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.38 on the second and final day of the Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener. Panek's time is currently tops in the Mideast Region.

The Mustangs finished tied for fifth in the team standings with 46 points. 

In the hammer throw, senior Lauren Dioses took third overall with a top toss of 44.66m. Dioses' toss is currently second in the region. Senior Allison Bishop finished just behind Dioses and in fourth with a 44.14, while senior Jess Rega took seventh with a 40.91.

In the 4x100m relay, the Mustangs' squad took fifth with 49.94. 

Junior Kimberly Hammond and freshman Ashlynne Raby clocked times of 13.00 and 13.13 in the 100 to take 11th and 14th overall in the event. 

The Mustangs will be back in action Saturday, April 6, when they compete at the Oscar Moore Invitational, hosted by Rowan.
