DANBURY, Conn. – Stevenson sophomore outside hitter Katie Leftridge was named the ECAC Division III South Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon. Earlier in the week, Leftridge was named the AVCA Division III Player of the Week as well as the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week.
Leftridge, who on Monday was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week, led the Mustangs to a 4-0 week as they extended their win streak to 10 matches. For the week, Leftridge hit .417 and totaled 52 kills (4.0 kps) and 47 digs (3.62 dps) and posted a pair of double-doubles.
In a 3-0 sweep of No. 12 Juniata Saturday, Leftridge hit .500 with 13 kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks, while earlier Saturday, she had 18 kills on .567 hitting and 13 digs in a 3-1 win over Washington and Lee to finish the tri-match with 31 kills and just two errors. On Tuesday, Leftridge totaled 12 kills and 14 digs in a 3-0 win over Elizabethtown.
Stevenson, which is ranked No. 25 in the AVCA Division III poll, returns to action next Wednesday when it hosts Lebanon Valley in a 7:00 contest at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
