OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's volleyball team goes for its sixth straight MAC Commonwealth conference championship Saturday when the top-seeded Mustangs host second-seeded Arcadia University at 2:00 pm at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
Ticket prices for Saturday's game are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and $2.00 for students, with children under 6 free. Stevenson students with ID will be admitted free courtesy of the Stevenson athletic department.
Stevenson (31-1, 8-0 MAC Commonwealth) has won 19 matches in a row and 22 straight at Owings Mills Gymnasium. The Mustangs, who are No. 15 in the latest AVCA Division III poll, have won the MAC Commonwealth title in each of their first five seasons in the league, defeating Messiah each time. Stevenson advanced to the conference final with a 3-0 sweep of fifth-seeded Alvernia Wednesday night.
Arcadia (23-10, 7-1 MAC Commonwealth) is making its first-ever MAC Commonwealth title game appearance. The Knights, who fell to the Mustangs 3-1 in Glenside, Pa. on September 26, advanced to the final with a 3-1 win over No. 3 seed Lebanon Valley Wednesday night. Arcadia has won five straight and nine out of its last 10 matches.
Saturday's winner earns an automatic berth to the 64-team NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship that begins next week.
