DANBURY, Conn. – Annika Schwartz, who recently wrapped up a four-year career with the Stevenson University women's volleyball team, was named as the ECAC Division III Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday morning. She was also selected as a First Team All-Star.
Schwartz, who earlier this season collected AVCA First Team All-America honors as well as MAC Commonwealth First Team All-Conference accolades, led the Mustangs to a 33-2 record, the second round of the NCAA Tournament and a final national ranking of No. 23. She totaled 378 kills on .291 hitting while also posting 334 digs and 47 blocks. A four-time MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week, Schwartz ranked third in the conference in kills per set, fifth in hitting percentage and first in aces per set.
Schwartz finished her career as the program's all-time leader in kills with 1,571 and service aces with 235, while also finishing with 1,321 digs and 165 blocks.
Stevenson finished 33-2 overall and made the program's seventh straight NCAA appearance, hosting an NCAA regional round for the first time.
