Mustangs Remain Perfect, Sweep St. Mary's, Union

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University women's volleyball team remained unbeaten by sweeping both ends of a trimatch Saturday, dispatching St. Mary's (Md.) and Union (N.Y.) by 3-0 scores at Owings Mills Gymnasium.

  • Set scores were 25-15, 25-11, 25-20.
  • The Mustangs (12-0) hit .243 for the match while holding the Seahawks (4-8) to -.010 hitting.
  • Freshman Shannon Baily led the Mustangs with eight kills on.375 hitting.
  • Katie Leftridge posted five kills and six digs.
  • Victoria Prokic had one solo block and two block assists.
  • Caroline Dangel finished with 12 assists, while Julie Nightwine had 11.
  • All 18 players saw the floor for Stevenson.

  • Set scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-13.
  • Stevenson clung to a 21-20 lead in the first set before scoring the final four points, including back-to-back Dangel kills.
  • After a Leftridge kill, a Union (7-5) attack error closed out the set.
  • Leftridge paced the Mustangs with 12 kills, while Simone Gest notched 11 and Prokic 10.
  • Prokic hit .556 with no errors on 18 swings, and also finished with a pair of block assists.
  • Dangel had 21 assists and 11 digs, while Emily Pellini notched 10 digs.
