Mustangs Slotted Sixth in Women's Cross Country Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Stevenson University women's cross country team was selected to finish sixth at this week's Middle Atlantic Conference Championship as the conference released its pre-championship coaches' poll Tuesday.  The Mustangs will host the championship on the Greenspring campus this Saturday, October 27, at 11:00 am.

Misericordia was a unanimous choice to win its second straight championship and fourth in the last five years, receiving all 16 first place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team).   Lebanon Valley was picked second, followed by Messiah, Eastern and DeSales.  Stevenson led the second group of five with 180 points, placing one point behind DeSales for fifth, while Widener, King's, Wilkes and FDU-Florham round out the top 10.

The Mustangs will be seeking to match or better their best-ever MAC Championship finish of sixth which it did in 2015.  Stevenson placed eighth in 2016 and moved up one spot to seven in last year's meet held at Delaware Valley.
