Laura Waginger was named Stevenson University’s Assistant Director of Campus Recreation in January of 2018.
Waginger oversees Stevenson’s growing intramural program and will also be responsible for creating new opportunities for Stevenson students, faculty and staff with additional fitness and outdoor adventure programming.
Most recently, Waginger worked with the Montgomery County (Md.) Recreation Department working with youth recreation programs. Prior to that, she served as the Coordinator for Intramural Sports and Event Management at the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif., developing the university’s first intramural program while also serving in an event management role for La Verne’s NCAA Division III varsity athletics program.
Waginger worked at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges as a Coordinator of Recreational Sports prior to her tenure at La Verne. From 2013-15, she was a graduate assistant at Marshall University, and she began her career in campus recreation at Penn State as an intern in the spring of 2013. Waginger also was an intern in UCLA’s recreation department in the summer of 2014.
Waginger earned her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management in 2013 and later earned a Master’s in Sport Administration from Marshall in December, 2014.
